  • Gyro Channel?

Lookin at my sig for details, the manual for my Tx says .. on page 8.. that the gyro sensitivy in HELI mode is on channel 5.

Then, later, in HELI setupm it says "The GYRO settings control the output at receiver CH7".

Is it channel 5 or channel 7 that the Gyro 'Reverse' setting should be set. And for the GY401, should it be reveresed?

have a look in th manual normall most set it on the gear channel (ch5)
using the gear channel normall means it only has two postitions one for heading hold the other for non-heading hold

      Thanks Edders.

Sorry, I'm a novice. I want to use the Heading Hold mode only. I didn't quite understand what you meant. The manual seems to mention both CH5 and CH7.

      The manual is online..
      Can you see?

Sorry, I am a COMPLETE novice here! What's a Gyro!?

Also, which channels are reveresed for the 450SE?

        no worries

some people use a type of mixing in order change the settings of the gyro when they switch between flight mose (Stunt switch ect)
for you I would set it up on the gear switch then set the travel adjust's (end point Adjustment EPA) to around 50 each way of the gear switch

just had a read of the manual. it seems that the hitec is capable of dealing with gyros with 2 inputs from the receiver.

some have a heading hold switch with a seperate switch and gain gain (sensitivity) which is set using the gyro menu in the tx, it lets you have different gains in different flight modes...

dont worry about all that... it doesnt apply to the 401.

plug it into channel 7 then set the end point adjustment of channel 7 to 50% in both switch positions.

              Aha!

OK, so the switch to set between STD and HeadingHold mode - I could set to CH7, which would be what is currently labled as 'Gear' on the Tx?

Spanner in the works.. there's a button NEXT to 'Gear' that says 'CH7'.

              I thought gear WAS CH7...

Just quick clarrification. The manual does say that the Gyro should use CH5, no? CH7 would be for that second option with the gain setting from the TX (which the 401 doesn't support?)

So I should be plugging the Gyro into CH5, and then would have CH7 spare (Maybe for a camera, or landing gear later)?

The 401 does support remote gain mate, yellow signal lead goes into ch5 on it's own.
                    Cheers,

no, use channel 7 and leave 5 as spare.

the transmitter has special features to let you change the gain depending on flight mode. this is utterly useless when using a 401. so its simpler just to use 7
