I’m a Newbie so please bear with me.
I have purchased a Trex 450 plus DFC. As part of the package, it is supplied with an Align RCC-3SD Balance Charger along with a power lead with 2 alligator style clamps to attach to the power supply.
Question 1: Can I use a laptop style Ac to DC 12 v power unit similar to this; http://www.sussex-model-centre.co.uk/shopexd.asp?id=23590 to power the balance charger?
I do understand that I can only charge one battery at a time (I only have 2 at the moment) and at a very slow pace.
I have considered going bigger on the PU (checked out some of the Coolice stuff) but before I go and spend £250 I have decided to wait and go cheap for now, then go large when I have more knowledge and understanding of what I am doing.
Question 2: Can the battery be charged via the balancer lead only connected to the RCC-3SD?
I am still practicing on the sim and have not even tried to hook up the heli, so I haven’t a clue how long the batteries will last whilst flying the 450, if anyone can give me a ballpark figure I would be grateful. I have 2 brand new Align 11.1v, 2200mAh 24.4Wh 30C Lipo’s
Thanks in advance for any suggestions.
