tbh the one thing that drew me to the 150 was being able to use my Futaba 14SG, I just wish Blade would also invest in something similar, I've spent enough on my 130x, the 150 will get no upgrades.....I swear !

But they already have something similar! - Spektrum TX's. Every vendor (Horizon Hobby / Align / Apple / Microsoft) looks for ways to tie customers into its "ecosystem". By sellings iPhones, Apple drives customers to Macs ... by selling RTF 450's with DX6i's, Horizon Hobby drove customers to more of its products. By sellings RTF 450's with (rebranded) Futaba 6j's, Align hopes to tie more beginners into its product line.

In short, HH wants people to buy Spektrum / Blade / Hangar-9 / etc. If it developed against Futaba, it would simply be giving customers a way NOT to use its products. Such openness in a business is laudable, but it loses you customers.

I agree Tom to a point . The 1 & only thing I like about the 150 is the option to use either , all be it with a sat if you use Spectrum . Where Align buggered up imo is using the slower Futaba protocol leaving the likes of me with an 8FG having to use my DX6i should I ever choose to get one .

You mean the user interface? Yes I agree, even the DX18QQ isn't anything like the top-end Futaba's with their touch-screens. But then, they're also much lower cost. I'm kind of used to the airware software now though. Bit like old mobiles, I stuck to Nokia for ages simply because I knew where everything was!

Mind you, it's not something that really bothers me personally - I use the TX interface sparingly. Once I've setup a heli, I rarely fiddle with expo/DR/etc.

Yup the user interface, I always say that HiTec had one of the best user interfaces on the Aurora, just a pity they are slow to develop their TX range..the top end 14MZ & 18MZ are just far too expensive for my taste.

They should include the metal swashplate and the other necessary 'upgrades' as standard in their future 150 kits.

LOL,by the time everything is upgraded to metal just to stop it falling apart the bloody thing will need 3s to get it in the air and it will 3d like jumbo savaloy!
