I have just bought my 1st real heli the Trex 500 wahey !

What is the general opinion of the best servos, gyro and tail servo to go for. Skyline said if i wanted to put a full size servo on the tail i can modify the mount in the kit.
I have a FF7 Tx was going to upgrade to spektrum but can't afford it yet.

Going to start the build this weekend. It will be the 1st heli i've built and set up my self.

All I will say is Align reccomend the Hitec HS-82MG's for the cyclic but after trying them in my 500 they have been taken out real sharp.

Now fitted 3x Hitec HS-5245's and a Futaba 9257 on the tail and the difference is like night and day.

Cheers mate, I've pretty much decided on the 9257 for the tail after reading up.

Hi why not try the S9650 Digital servo for the cyclic and tail, quality servo imo

I have just orderd my 500 and that is whats going into mine, GY401 gyro and S9650 on the tail all can run on 6v as well.

I'm sure Smoothound tried a 9650 on the tail and it didnt work to well
I have JR DS3500G's on the cyclics and a Futaba 9257 on the tail for now, till I get around to a full size servo when I can track down a Spartan gyro.
