a lighter rex 550 at last

evening all , warm ain`t it , well today , after flight approx 25 , in went my little goblin 500 , the usual blades , undercart bits , including the carbon skids , sideframe , tail output shaft al bust. soooooo out came the rex 550 and in went the pyro 600-12 and on went the goblin 500 swash n head complete , new weight except battery is 2180grams , my lightest ever , sneaked one flight earlier , unfortunately my 5000 turnigy is all but finished but she felt good

She flys lovely be even better when I get a good quality li-po , no longer feels heavy on the air , lovely jubbly

2180 grams is very good if that's the absolute total weight minus LiPo. That means roughly about 3kg ready to fly, which is about 300 / 400 grams lighter than my Outrage 550 used to be and one of the Trex 550s at the club was about the same weight (around 3.3 / 3.4 kg with a 5000mah LiPo).

The way all the little stuff adds up - My Beam Avantgarde was amazingly light as a bare airframe (about 1500 grams) but after all the electrics and blades are on it ends up at 2.76kg minus LiPos, so probably 3.6/3.7kg total takeoff weight.

Yep that was the total minus li-po but with a fusuno cano and standard undercart , with the mikado cano and tdr undies , she came in at 2238grams , I have just tried it with a removed undercart , a carbon brace is used to stop it falling over , using the fusuno cano she is now at 2136 minus batt , no sliding autos this way tho so am well pleased , could go lighter with 1.6 mm frames but ain't got any of them in my shed

looks different , but even with my shot li-po , she flew even better , now to tidy it all up , oh and the pyro motor may be small , but it has tons and tons of power
