Early 500 ESP , because hasn't got lower frame for battery, with dfc conversion.

Yeah, looks like a heavily modded 500ESP frame with lots of aftermarket parts e.g. DFC head, new tail grips, new tail pitch slider assembly, non standard boom, boom supports, anti-rotation bracket, CNC bottom tray/battery tray etc. Think the landing gear is made by Tarot. Basically only the frames are standard ESP!

EDIT: also has the new Align carbon tail control rod.

              What 500 is this ?

Agreed. Wasn't 100% about the frames. But the motor gives it away too. Should have looked closer!

Hi guys thank you for the help, i picked it up recently, its not finished yet i still have to put the servo horns on, main gear etc

i paid 250 all in, is this a good deal ?

i have a simulator which i have been learning on (phoenix v4) how accurate is this to the real life

and finally any tips on the set up

Thanks guys cant wait to try this

                EDIT:

                full equipment is

Talon 90, it looks like it plugs into the motor

                Align RCM-BL500L motor

                3 X Align DS515M Coreless digital

1 x Align DS520 this is on the tail boom

                FUTABA R6203SB

                1 X TURNIGY NANO-TECH 2650 35C - 70C BATTERY

And i have purchased an FUTABA 8FG with the extra sd card from a local hobby shop as they said it was one of the only ones to work with this helicopter, the other was in the thousands !

and three usb things, one is FUTABAdoes this go into the 8fg ? One is black with a lot of leads with it, and one looks like just a circuit board with a usb extension on it

It does. The Talon90 is the Electronic Speed Controller. It takes the throttle input from the RX, power from the battery and controls the motor. If you're new to all this, you might want to take a look at RC Helicopters, The Most Fun And Rewarding Of All RC Hobbies.

You will definitely need somebody to check it over once you've built it to ensure that Talon90 and the 3GX are setup correctly. Far too many people end up having a silly crash straight off because of something simple like wrong compensation directions.

You should probably try to hook up with one of the Southampton guys on here. (South hants heli club)

The best thing you can do is some research! Look on YouTube for the "Freddy can fly" 3GX setup videos. Read all you can on rchelicopterfun.com and perhaps even download one of his setup books to learn all about ESCs, Flybarless controllers, etc. etc.

As for the actual heli though - as Don says, be *very* careful. You do not want a 500-heli accidentally spinning up in your living room. For fun, work out the tip speed of one of those blades assuming 2400RPM (rough operating speed), and a 1-metre diameter disc! Then get yourself a stiff drink!

You could look at doing the 3GX setup - whatever you do, you can always undo! Just don't have the motor plugged in (disconnect at least two of the motor wires, or better still, all of them!). Also, remove the main blades before trying anything with the motor or Talon.

Best bet though - try to catch up with one of the local guys! You might want to consider looking at getting a micro heli too to practice with - and/or perhaps some training skids! Also, I would seriously consider putting those snazzy upgrade skids to one side initially, and get yourself some big, basic, plastic skids to start with that are more forgiving of heavy landings!

Best of luck - and welcome to the madhouse!
