  • GP Pipe....

Anyone have any experience of this pipe on their 700? I've read reviews that say it helps the engine to develop more power and pretty much gets rave reviews......

Looking at the manifold spacer and the throat of the pipe where it connects to the engine I'm not impressed at all, there is a big step down to the pipe throat and a fairly substantial reduction in area from the engine casting to the pipe, and it's a square step too so doubly bad in my eyes.

It makes a crackling noise too when running too which I don't like. Anyone had any experience of these pipes before this one hits ebay....?

I've been flying GP Exhausts for a couple of years now.
They perform extremely well in my view.
I've not had the issue you describe, but can you tell me which specific pip you have got, and which engine you are fitting it to?

    Cheers,

I'm not sure on the model but it's a GP pipe with a seperate spacer that spaces the pipe to the engine, simply an inline casting. The engine is an OS91HZ-ps. I've only just got the heli and starting looking at then pipe because it sounded a little crackly, as if the engine / exhaust connection was leaking. I've bought the quick uk ali exhaust gaskets so this is why I took the pipe off and found the internal shapes of the engine casting and exh do not match up. The engine outlet is a rectangular shape and the pipe is more square - you follow? Just seems wrong to me but its entirely possible it's the wrong pipe for the OS engine.

Looking at the website it looks like the "compact" version.
