Hey.
The Trex 450 will be a nice size model and a decent upgrade into a proper RC heli if you like. However, if you are really keen to give this hobby a good go I'd suggest perhaps to look at the Trex 500 class machine. Reason being, it is slightly bigger and so more tolerant to wind, but at the same time not so large and battery hungry that it's going to cost you and arm & a leg to own and fly.

It'll do a lot better than the SR, but it depends what you mean by wind. a 450 starts to become a bit of a handful above about 15mph wind, and is tricky in gusts.Trex 600 ESP (Turnigy T600, DS821, DS620, GP750, 120A) sold

Quick question...........why do you post all your questions in the 600/700 nitro section? Lol. Main discussions might be a better place to post general RC heli questions.

It comes down to money and your reactions. The 120 you have is not good in wind. The mcpx is the same size and better in wind. The 450 about 5mph better and the 500 another 5. Some people like flying in wind and enjoy the challenge but others find it a pain as it stops them doing what they want. The bigger the heli the more easily it gets damaged and the more it costs. It will only be your next heli, so the choice isn't too important. Have a look at the Phoenix sim and try flying different size models in different wind conditions. It is the best investment you can make. It has a high resale value as well when you've mastered helis.Flasher 450 Sport. Assan GA250 with 520 tail servo, MKS DS450 cyclic.
