  • Align Governor problem???

Have recently developed problem with governor. Its a standard RCE-6600 Align governor on my 600 nitro.

In Aux1 it works fine, green light on etc, detects the magnets, works ok
Flick to Aux2 (which I usually have about 7% higher but it makes no difference) then the red light immediately comes on and I have no governor - heli just revs away!

    Any ideas?

I'm going to change this heli over to FBL with a BeaxtX I think. Does the BeastX come with a governor option like say the V Bar?

Are you sure you're not switching it off when you switch to Aux2, and so the normal throttle curve takes over?
    Just a thought..............

      No govenor on the beastX.
what to set to get different head speed in idle 1 and 2 depends on your Tx. its a bit of a faff on a DX7 for example and usually involves a pmix.
The aux 2 channel needs to be further away from centre in idleup 2 compared to idleup 1. it doesn't matter if its up or down its just how far from centre. If it is close to centre the governor is off.
If either the throttle or the governor is less than something like 25% the governor switches off.

So I suggest you check the throttle and aux 2 outputs in the different flight modes, then go through the setup again where you teach the governor which is throttle open and which is throttle closed.
as it works in idle1 it sounds like everything is electromechanically OK.

Am I the only one thats confused?.. You say Aux 1 & Aux 2??...

Im not teaching you to suck eggs but they are completely different channels, your gov gain (yellow lead) will only be plugged into one of those channels but more than likely Aux2 (and the other in the throttle channel).. so that means its either on or off when you flick the Aux2 switch and you wouldnt be flicking aux1 to aux2?

What Tx are you using? A spekky? I still cant make any kind of make sense of your post Dave even if you meant idle1, idle2 etc... so your flicking from normal to idle1 or idle1 to idle 2 and the light goes from green to red through those modes... even this still shouldnt cause the on/off light as your not turning the gov on/off through aux2??

If you are using a Spekky, have you got your mixes right on the Tx. Also, as moyesboy says, the gov will only be "actively" working when the throttle is over 30% IIRC.. however this doesnt mean you have a red light on the gov as it will still be green.

Thanks for input everyone. Sorry to have been misleading I meant Aux+ and Aux- which give the option of alternative governor settings.
Someone at the field will get their hands on it no doubt!
