    That seems to go against everything you've always been told about your heli fuel tank doesn't it.
    Yeah, but you don't have to keep the fuel in the tank at the end of a flying day - just refill it to force the exhaust gasses out, leave it a bit to let the gasses dissipate, then empty it again, if you like.

    As trev said, it prevents the heli from running lean, as the foam holds up to 14 seconds worth of fuel, so the engine should never be starved, however temporarily it may happen on occasion.

    I run a header tank along with the fuel magnet too - works well for me so far

      been using a fuel mag since I got my 600n (second batch in the country) ive only had one sponge degrade in that time it must have had at least 12 gallons. I dont run a header and get every last drop of fuel every flight. I fill up at the end of most flights and I leave it filled up at the end of the day. I think the gasses are more corrosive than the fuel.
