    Use the gov.

20% opti will be fine but 30% will give more punch and a faster throttle response.

    11 degrees will be plenty.

      Hi,

I would use a governor for light 3D.

Pitch is really down to pilot preference but -11/+11 is a good starting point. Stick swash expo to ACT under swash mix on if it's flybarred.

20% is fine to start with but 30% might take engine loading better, start with 20% and if you need more power try out 30%.

      Cheers

you dont use flat curves on nitros.....its a V curve .e.g. 80,65.55.65,80. its essential if your not using a governor and a good idea even if you are in case the governor fails in flight.

i use 20% fuel and -11/+11 pitch range to good effect. i also govern my HS to 1950.

I know it personal choice but what is a good headspeed for a more stable FFF and sports flying?

Run gov at around 2000 -2200 for 3d, i would suggest opti or RAPICON 20 to begin with, i tend to run 11 degrees pos and neg pitch, dont need anymore, but for light 3d 10 degrees should be fine, also if you plan to do 3d try and keep the pos and neg pitch the same

But in normal flying mode it might be best to have aroung +9 and -3 degrees or something like that

But its all really personal preferance

            7

Maybe around 1700-1900, it all depends on the machine though, blades, engine, flybar, paddles, etc best way to get it right is trial and error

All good had a hover today but I got No way of setting up my head speed I'm looking at sports light 3d settings so around 1850 rpm . Engine OS 50 hyper JR radio any ideas as what % in the throttle setup will get me close to 1850 rpm?

When i had my os50 i think 85% gave me around that with an align gov (Using the mixes method of setting up headspeeds)

i have the OS 50sx-h, i have my governor set at 85% and my taco reads 1950 rpm consistently. 80% would be a good bet but remember the V curve in idle up from my earlier post if you still don't have a governor

If I remember correctly the OS50 hypers (sweetspot) likes to run at 17k which on the standard Trex 600n 8.5:1 ratio equals about a 2k headspeed. You should always run the Gov, but have the throttle curves set incase the gov fails - you don't want the gov to fail and suddenly find you have either a 1k or 3k headspeed. The way I did this was by sound... Set the gov up to your headspeed, listen to how the heli sounds then disable the gov and set the throttle curve to that you get the same sound - more or less - from the blades, then at least if it fails the heli wil remain flyable.

Something else thats not been mentioned for light sport flying - its what/all I do - is the Ail and Elev pitch. I used to run 8 degrees on both and found the heli quite sensitive doing 8s or circles, dropping this to 6 degrees on each really mellowed the heli out.

                        Good luck.

The gov I'm using is the align 600 come with Heli in kit
Am I not right I'n thinking that the gov will activate over 40% throttle and hold the max end point in the throtel setup ? I can't see how I just set the head speed with gov it needs to be set in the tx dose it not?
Sorry for all the questions just tring to setup right or as best I can

Yeah, I dont use that Gov but looking at the instructions you set the ATV to control the engine speed/headspeed - http://h1072455.hobbyshopnow.com/Pro...H09-Manual.pdf - looking at the manual you would be best to go for 60% giving an engine speed of 17070 RPM and a head speed of 2008 RPM.

@hedge so for me JR around 85 to 90% should give me around 16000 / 17200rpm and be suitable for light 3D
