    Hey All,

I flew my 700N today and attempted some loops and rolls. This is the first time i have really started to try a few things as it took me a while to get the engine on song.

When performing a roll i noticed that is seemed to pitch quite a lot. Presumably this can be mixed out but i was just wondering is this the norm for a 700 or do i need to recheck my setup? Also can anyone offer any pointers on how to tune this out?

    Thanks in advance

Did you set the heli up with a leveling tool if so you are possibly inducing the elev when pushing in the ail ?? or your pitch timing is out, My 700,s have no mixing and dont pitch Cheers Jason

I didn't use a levelling tool but think maybe i need one, by eye it does look level throughout the pitch range and when I apply aileron I can't see any elevator interaction on the swash but when flying it is quite noticeable ie the pitch is probably 30 degrees, at first thought it was me on the sticks but got someone to watch them during manoeuvres and they do look straight ie no elev during the rolls. Think maybe i need it back on the bench to double check....

Check your a arm is in the middle, do some full power climb outs to see if I tilts off and full negative drops to see if it tilts

My experience with swash levelling is that if I just eye it in there is no guarantee it will be really level, so I always use a leveller and get as microscopic about it as I can.

If the swash is totally level throughout the travel and no other obvious interactions then the other possibility is C of G.

Lot of helis require a bit of mixing or (if the phase is adjustable) moving the phasing a bit. It depends on the blades you're using.

At the mo it's completely stock with align 690s on it. Think I will defo get a leveller and give that a go, want to get it locked in ASAP ...

Well I finally got to spend some time on this over the weekend. I purchased a swash leveller so got the 700 set by eye as close as i could then took the head off and put the leveller on. It was close but not quite there so adjusted the end points until I got level travel throughout the pitch range. Took it to the field yesterday and flew it. When you hammer on the collective it climbs / descends really locked in and straight, however in a roll still skews out. When on the ground and you apply full aileron you can see the swash rise a little at the front, can't figure out why mine does it but no one else's does. I'm running an 8fg, can I just mix it out or have I got a setup issue somewhere ?

Hey, Have you measured your aile and elev, some set them up so they get +-8 degrees, I find this too agressive and so drop down to +-6 degrees, this also helped smooth my rolls. (note this is not blade pitch which I assume is between 10-14 degress).

Hey Paul collective range I've got 10 10, I haven't measured the cyclic but will check it. The afr is currently 60%. I guess that I could measure the elevator cyc at full aile and see if it is reading anything, you can defo see the swash move on the elevator axis at full aile deflection.

Yeah give it a go, may be too much and its interfering at full stick.

How would u use a vernier to level the swash? Tx

I take it you've set you TX to 120 CCPM & not 140.?
Today's outlook is fine for flying.
