  • couple of newby nitro questions

hi there i am picking up my new 600 pro nitro tomos and just wanted a few pointers on things

heads are they all compatable from version to version and is the electric head the same

glow plugs what do u use? my heli is coming with an os hyper 50 ringed i believe and some opti 12 fuel i may give this away and just use opti 20 or what ever 20 nitro

ive read that quk clutch is a good 1 so i will get 1 after i run engine in

is there any other points that could idearly need modding for improvement or is it solid out the box

    thanks for any help

    cheers terry

oh yeah b4 i forget how long would you run a plug b4 changing?

i was out in the ice other week but to be honest only done 9 4 min flights on 450 and 2 of those were proper round the field but i probly binnit on next flight
also i got an aurora 9 easy to use (if u know what half the stuff does lol)but i will probly just hover this 1 for break in and carry on with the 450 in the cold

Good choice, you will probably find easier to hover, as it is bigger and more stable than 450. No need for a governor at this stage. Don't get sucked in with bling, not needed. Fuel is ok I run opti 20% and enya #3 prefer these to os #8. IMO you should not wait for summer, just go out and do a couple of tanks whenever you have the spare time, come summer you will be doing circuits(or better circuits than you are now).

Sweet i look into them plugs also i got the aurora 9 by hitec do you think its a good idea to use the optima 9 rx instead of the optima 7 as it has 2 boda arials instead of 1 thanks terry

I wouldn't worry about the 7 only having one antenna, it is all it really needs.

The only reason I'd consider a 9 is that the 7 can be a little tricky to locate and get neat wiring with due to having servo connections at both ends.
