  • T-Rex header tank mount

Would this be of any interest to you guys?
It's a mount so that you can fit a header tank properly in the correct position on a TRex nitro.
I made one for myself and the guys at the club wanted me to make some for them too and suggested that I should make a few extras.
I've machined them out of ally and given them quite a large footprint so they hold the header rock steady.
I'll supply them with nuts bolts n washers. If you're interested gimmie a shout and I can sort you out.

I've fixed my header tank directly to the main tank using servo tape and Zap-A-Dap-A Goo around the perimeter, I can still lift the heli up by the header tank after a dozen or so flights Why doesn't someone make a tank with a built in header?

Is your main gear rubbing your canopy?

I would be happy to pay that for one, save me the bother of looking for the bits to fit it myself. I have seen a similar thing on ebay, but inc the P&P it came to nearly eight quid!

I too have stuck my header tank directly onto the main tank, but added a couple of long cable ties.

Drilling extra holes in your frames can lead weakness during crashes

Why does it always persist down at weekends ?

Somehow I don't think one more hole in the frame is really going to make that much of a difference considering how "holy" it is already

The canopy in that pic is not on its mounts, but i did stupid me forget on one flight to do the bottom latch and it rubbed on the gearing, it is very close as i have the smaller canopy mounts to bring the back in so my gyro could fit under the canopy, gyro now at the back

So you make your post! Thread through it with a piece of threaded rod... With me so far? remove a screw from roughly where you want to place header . Then screw threaded rod into the hole from where you removed the screw.... Screw on your post then attach your header there ...No Extra hole.......... Bloomin heck that was a lot of screwin lmao
