  • Converting a 700 pro to E

After flying the fusion the weekend with its simplicity & ease of use I'm now considering a 700 sized electric machine. I'm torn between buying a dedicated machine & converting my existing pro airframe. What are the pros & cons of converting the 700 pro to a flybarless 700 E?
My existing machine is also flybarred so I need all the extra items to make it flybarless also.

i got both variations, i would personally bye a 700e. unless you have the esc and motor laying around,
    1) battery changing is quicker and easier in 700e vs conversion
    2) your need to purchase bottom plate and motor mount and better to fit metal rx mount, because 1 battery will be hanging off it

imo i would bye 700e and keep pro as nitro

My thoughts would be to get rid of the nitro 90 but second hand prices of these units is very poor hence thinking its better to convert & just sell the engine & pipe.

Add up all the parts needed and you will find its better option to get the 700e new mate.Dont rush, you have the fusion to fly in the meantime

Defintely a new kit. The last conversions I saw sucked! Stripped maingears every two seconds due to the flex in the frames; things may have changed though.

My 700E v2 will be here tomorrow

My first large E was a 700 conversion using the Helichris frames and it just did not feel right. The CoG felt all wrong and gave the model an unnatural feel to it.

My advice would also be to buy a new dedicated kit

Ok seems the consensus is the conversions a no go then. Thanks to all who have pmed me with links or offers of heli conversion frames.
Looks like I'm going to have to start saving for a 700 E v2 kit then. Any idea where these can be bought without gear must be flybarless.

Another thumbs up for the dedicated 700e it's a cracking model.

I can vouch for this HKG retailer they do a kit only etc but maybe a uk supplier would get you a deal.

Declare customs value @ $13, not $17 like I did... Doh! ($15 is the new threashold).
