He wont need one of them he has the 500efl
Currently all of the kits supplied have the A version of the tail rotor hub. This hub doesn't have shims. The B version has the shims. This is the same for the PRO or EFL kits.

I ordered my hub from Taiwan and didn't even bother putting the model together until they arrived.

The efl comes with a complete upgrade hub from what was on the esp.
Today's outlook is fine for flying.

I thought this, but when I built my EFL it came with older hub without the shims.

Yep, and the new design is flawed, hence the 'B' version.

At present the kits have 500PRO Metal Tail Rotor Holder H50119A in them. There is a newer part H50119B which has the shims. I am led to believe the B version is now in the kits but the older kits need to be cleared by the distributors.

God knows why they didn't have a hub with shims, seems silly as most kits i built have this. Without, the thrust bearing rubs against the blade grip bearing and can cause wag.

Haven't see the b version in the uk yet.

The new 'B' revision hub will fix it for anyone who's bought the 500 Pro 'A' version for either the 500, or V2 for the 550/600/700. It should only be about £5-£6 for the new hub, but they aren't half taking their time. Align listed the new version about the same time as the 450 Sport V2, which has been on sale here for weeks.

In this mode am I correct in saying the DX6i gyro gain has no affect and the only way you can change the rudder gain is via the PC. At the moment I am using just one satellite receiver but will get another soon.
I have downloaded the 3GX setting from my PC for trex 500/ beginner.
                      Hey.

Here is your problem. Unfortunately you cannot alter the gain via the pc software, nor can you get the 3GX into heading hold mode denoted by the red led. In order to use sats and I'd advise adding another one to the model as one isn't really sufficient on a 500 machine, you need a 7 channel transmitter like the DX7. Or to carry on using the DX6i you need to add a seperate spektrum receiver so that you can plug the tail gyro gain wire into the gear channel (channel 5).

What's happening now is you are not altering your gyro gain at all, hence the tail wag which won't go away. What you are changing is the govenor settings, which have no effect as the govenor is disabled.

Unfortunately there is no other option than a new transmitter with 7+ channels, or a seperate receiver to allow tail gain adjustments via channel 5.
