trex 600 v2 has Found my mojo again :)

Well after three weeks faffing about trying to get the 600 v2 flying, messing with a near dead 50 hyper then a tt53 with an old carb that wasnt working right I finally got the thing sorted today "Hip Hooray"
To say that I've found my mojo again with this model is quite an understatement. This heli was just made for me & has brought a huge smile to my face after flying it today. I can honestly say fishing & warcraft couldnt be further from my thoughts I still have yet to get the govenor working on it, a curtis ATG which I think will be ripped off & an align one put in its place. This new model with a working TT 53 on 30% MT & an align pipe has masses of power for me. I couldnt bog it on elevator tic tocs at all & only managed when practicing badly timed aileron tic tocs. I got a feeling my 700 which is being a pain in the rear will be gotten rid of cause I just dont need it now I have the 600 v2.

To be honest mate I very nearly threw the towel in last summer. Things at the club werent good. The massive tree just gave me the colly wobbles everytime I got near it & my 700 nearly sent me nuts with vibration issues, finaly tracked down to a very expensive set of massively out of balance torsions bought 2nd hand & in so called unused condition, a very costly mistake. Then the velocity gave me simillar problems which I've now tracked down to the hyper engine that I've now chucked in the shed. Funny how things turn out but I'm megga glad i stuck with it & bought this model. the thing flips for england I can just smack in full down elevator & time my pitch & flip it allround the sky with no loss of head speed its an animal.

Nice one martin, im using the tt53 and ive had it for 151 flights and its been awsome, and it works better with the high flow pipe (i did try the align one at first but that was replaced) the high flow gives more power, ive also modded an OS50 carb to fit the tt53, which provides more power, consistant running, runs cooler and tunes better, Ive only replaces the rear bearing once and its goin strong!!
Im using the thin head shim on 20% rapicon, i used 30% rapicon but it works miles better on 20%. Its also been tested on 20 and 30% model technics bekra but rapicon gives more power and better tuning and runns cooler!!!

Btw ive got a spare align gov lying around if you want it!!!

Well done im also loving my trex600le and that took lots of fiddling to get sorted but now its good!!

Dont know whats up with the atg Nick probably nothing but it's just not working at all.
I buggered one sensor up trying to instal it & had to put a sensor off a revloc on it which it was seeing when I set it up last week.
I've had to run it on throttle curves & theres a touch of over speeding in a fast decent so just a little tweeking to be done.

Did the light come on when over the magnet?

It is tricky to set up,but once you have it dialled it works better than the align

Yup light came on mate but unsure how to get back to that check. Its a bit harder to understand nick, I'm used to easy align stuff & this is just a little trickier. Maybe I will come over & let you have a look at it as setting the head speed was mental as i had no idea what lights to set as 8.25 to 1 wasnt listed from what i could see as a ratio

Told you you would like it Martin. I've started flying mine again in the last 2 weeks and I absolutely love it. I got stuck in a rut flying the 450 all the time which was doing me a world of good with my confidence but once I started flying the 600 v2 again it put such a smile on my face. I have to say it flew perfect first time from the build. Didn't even need blades tracking and it flies so straight and true. People knock the v2 with very little upgrades from the v1 but I think it's a fantastic machine

It flies like my velo did Rich, the new designed head has made it as good as the v1 velo for flying. It has the straightest flip I've known that just inspires confidence in my flying. I'm back to where I was the year before last with my confidence. I now want to throw the piro in now when I flip & next outing I just know I will

I did some piro flips out of inverted hovers last week on the 450. I want to do it on the 600 soon

Gear ratio setup (engine off)
You need to set the gear ratio so the governor can properly indicate your rotor RPM (Section D)
Move to full throttle and push the "P" button. This puts the governor in gear ratio set mode. The
light should start flashing. List below shows the flashes relative to gear ratios. Push the "H" or "L"
button to select your model gear ratio range.
Gear Ratio Lights
7.6 Fast flashing green
8.0, 8.2 1 green
8.45, 8.5 2 green
8.8, 9.0 1 red
9.3,9.5 2 red
10 Fast flashing red
