  • HN6064-00 New drive gear case woes

I've just bought the affore mentioned main gear case along with the mandated Auto Drive Gear (H60020A)
When assembled as per the instructions, there is about 1.5mm to 2mm of float in the main gear which causes it to rub on the auto gear and also the tail drive pinion gear. Replacing the new auto gear with the old type of gear results in no play whatsoever and a nice silky smooth set up. Inspection of the the auto gears revealed a 1.6mm lip moulded in to the old type of gear which takes up the play. The new type of gear now has a nice metal insert with no lip, hence the excessive play.

What's going on here then ? It looks like the new gear requires a 1.6mm spacer but I can't find any reference to it in the manuals or on the web. Am I loosing my marbles or what ?????????????

looks like the spacer comes with the one way bearing sleeve, at a guess i'd say its this one H60139A New One-way Bearing Shaft

        Sorted

It looks like that when using the new autogear (H60020A) you also need a new main gear casing (HN6064BA) not HN6064-00. HN6064BA has a radial bearing in addition to the one way bearing and as such is slightly taller thus taking up the play experienced.
