hi just wondering your thoughts between v-bar and futaba gy 750 to be fitted to 700le

i have 3gx at min i have not had problems with this unit but just keep hearing that these 2 units are the best and if anyone who has flown these units would'nt fly any other because they are that good and locked in.

    wots your thoughts thanks jago

v bar and te CGY750 have a diffent feel
V bar is all out feel like a video game but you do get the feel that its fly by wire as such

where the 750 smooths out your flying but you still feel in control and it flys real nice easy to set up loads of tweeks and you dont need a laptop and updates are free

V bar you need a lap top at the field and have to pay for the updates

im more for the CGY750 as more user friendly neat set up and smaller sensor

          just my thoughts

cheers just my thoughts as well about taking a laptop to the field + paying for updates when the unit is priced high anyway.
i have owned a gv1 govenor and a gy611 gyro and and been very happy with those i can only imagine how locked in the heli would be if it feels like a gy611 on your cyclic as well as your tail. i also use 10c transmitter cheers jago

But you need to purchase the USB interface.

Not strictly true as not all updates are charged for. You can program the v-bar unit using the v-bar control panel or blue tooth unit so a laptop is not strictly needed.

For me being a Futaba Fanboy, it has to be the CGY-750. Maxw is correct in that the VBar is more "sim like" whereas the CGY-750 is more like a very accurately setup FB'd machine. I'll stick my neck out and say the CGY-750 has a better tail control than the VBar and is virtually vibration resistant compared to the VBar.

The CGY-750 is easy to setup and doesn't require a laptop. Two of my club mates have VBars and they're for ever messing around with them on the laptop at our field whereas my CGY-750 just seem to work. In fact last weekend one of my club mates maidened his newly built 600N fitted with a VBar. When he started it up for the first time, it hot started as the governor kicked-in in normal mode with the throttle stick at the bottom! Obviously one of the settings was not correct. I'm not knocking the VBar as its probably the "gold standard" in FBL systems, but for me it has to be the CGY-750, and the major upgrades are free!!!

Don't dismiss the BeastX V3. I've flown a Velocity 90 with it fitted and it's very good indeed.

So it beats a Beastx v3 in your opinion, but what about CGY750?

I have a couple of CGY750's (one yet to be maidened) and am watching this thread with interest. For me, so far I have not got the CGY750 set up properly, but from what I have seen, I think it is going to be good. It feels very crisp and responsive, however doesn't fly straight, at the moment, on my machine.

I have had just 2 flights on V-barred machines. One felt awful to me because of the preferences of the owner (Cliff who liked it very, very twitchy), the other was on the Srimok 600 prototype and it felt pretty damned perfect, I have to say, but I couldn't really let rip because it wasn't mine.

I love the features of the CGY 750, and it is a really neat installation due to the S-bus and doing away with the governor.
Life's a bitch and then you fly!!

I've only flown the 750 In a logo and I didn't like it. But in its defence these things are all in the setup. I didn't set it up and it was far to soft for my liking. I like a hard precise feeling. My vbar flew fantastic from the word go. I did play with the pro settings to get the flybar feel. But it was just a matter of switching on the pre comp and pitch pump on cyclic and pitch.

I changed the ball links on the swash to give the vbar the best servo resolution and it payed off

It's on a 600 pro and with a flat throttle curve it's fantastic. I did have the gov running but prefer the feeling of the 2700 headspeed. The feeling stays consistent and with 3300 45-90c batteries the headspeed doesn't drop much through the flight. It is a 3d monster.

I would recommend you look at the smack talk videos that go into the config of both devices. Two different episodes. They are worth the £3 per episode.

If you buy a vbar consider the pro software upgrade £27 part of the cost. They do charge for major sw upgrades but at least you know that they have an upgrade path and will continue to develop it. The hardware is far in advance of what is currently being asked and will remain an active product for quite a while. The expense and capability is all about the software.

I'm specktrum so use their satellites which gives a neat install but I believe it will take S-bus straight in also.

Oh yeah. I also considered the 750 but because I'm specktrum discounted it.

Can't you borrow one to try. They are a diddle to set up.
