  • Align trex 600 FBL blade grips

Anyone know if you need to use the FBL blade grips on the align head or will the plastic ones do the same job? Converting T-rex 600N but want to keep the cost to minimum. Can't seem to find anyone selling the head only these days.

Some have used the plastic grips but the distance from the mainshaft is less on the plastic ones than on the dedicated ones, reducing the throw and I think you will introduce negative delta because the ball links aren't long enough.

      Hi

There is a big difference between the flybared and flybarless grips, the pivot ball is located much further out on the FBL ones, if you use the origenal grips then I am sure it would work but how well I am not so sure about, mainly as you would have to cut the travels down a lot and loose a lot of resolution.
You could either fit the FBL grips to the existing head centre or probably cut the pitch arm on the origenal grips and bolt a plate to this to extent the pivot ball further out.

      Cheers

There are some useful tips to convert to FBL without having to buy the FBL head:-

Thanks for the tips I'll look in to those ideas. Would be easy to buy the head as a unit but doesn't seem to be available anywhere. Buying the individual components is an option but works out quite expensive.
