Anyone know if you need to use the FBL blade grips on the align head or will the plastic ones do the same job? Converting T-rex 600N but want to keep the cost to minimum. Can't seem to find anyone selling the head only these days.

Hi
There is a big difference between the flybared and flybarless grips, the pivot ball is located much further out on the FBL ones, if you use the origenal grips then I am sure it would work but how well I am not so sure about, mainly as you would have to cut the travels down a lot and loose a lot of resolution.
You could either fit the FBL grips to the existing head centre or probably cut the pitch arm on the origenal grips and bolt a plate to this to extent the pivot ball further out.
Cheers
Bob

Yes, if you want to keep it cheap, you can use the original grips and convert as per the threads above. Works perfectly.Originally posted by johnsandywhite View PostThere are some useful tips to convert to FBL without having to buy the FBL head:-
