  • Align Spares Packets

Probably been mentioned before, but I do find the following Align 700 spares packets a bit odd.

Let's assume you've crashed and mullered the boom, tube, tail push rod etc - usual stuff.

Now to get a spare tail push rod (you can't buy it on its own), you have to buy a boom. Well that's ok, because you knackered the boom anyway, and bonus, you get two booms in the pack....... errrrr, but only one push rod.

Then you have to buy a torque tube as well, and only one in the packet at a very decent price.

So now after the repairs are all done, I've got a spare boom in the spares box. Ok, no problem, it will get used one day I'm sure. But it doesn't! Next time you crash, you have to buy another torque tube and another boom set (just to get the push rod of course), so now after the rebuild, I've got 2 spare booms in the spares box! It goes on and on until you have the European boom mountain cluttering up your space!

2 booms in a pack is a great idea, but why oh why don't they include the push rod with the torque tube in a single pack so that it can be shipped safely, or even sell the push rod on its own?

    Rant over!

Don't have this problem with outrage
However had a similar thing with my karcher pressure washer where the part I needed was a plastic cylinder with thread must cost a quid but you have to buy it with the metal shroud which never breaks so it costs 15 quid

Similar when I overdid a loop with my Align 500 10 days ago, left the skids sticking out of the ground, flew on and landed without further damage. They sell a 'plastic bits' set which includes the base plate I needed, plus new battery tray, receiver tray and anti-rotation bracket. So a £2.50 bit of plastic cost me £12 and I now have the other bits sitting around. In all my crashes, I don't think I ever broke the receiver or battery tray, let alone the anti-rotation bracket!

Align F/S packs - 3 F/S in the pack but only 1 set each of the other hardware. Great, unless you've had a F/S fail in flight and lost the spacers when the grips went flying

Would be nice to see a crash packet with 1 boom, 1 torque tube, 1 push rod and 3 push rod guides. Let's face it, when you bend the boom, you most likely bust the other bits as well.

I've broken the battery tray and anti rotation bracket on my 450 when I messed up a loop. Nothing else broke just those parts, and of course the bent main and feathering shaft.

On the 600 if you buy the carbon boom you don't get the pushrods, guess who made that mistake , and then had to go and buy the metal boom so I could get the pushrod, which is the part I really wanted

I have broken mine as well whilst hovering inverted and lost orientation. Broke a couple of other bits as well that day (like my plane and 600 lol)
