  • Trex 600 Header Tank Mounting

I need a standoff like the one shown here http://www.ukheli.com/nheader.htm just been all over B & Q trying to find long enough M3 bolts to make something similar but can't find anything like.Has anyone got any sources for just 2 bolts - sort of puts mail order out of the question.Cheers

I attached mine like this when I had a 600 as I didn't like drilling the frames. What length M3 do you need?

See if this Header Bolt link works Not sure why you want to go that way.. whats wrong with the normal QuickUK spacers as shown on my 600Ive just drilled a hole in my frame as per pic but you can use the hole for the main bearing block like your link

Or an alternative, use double sided Ming yang and then seal it with Zap Goop, no drilling and no twisting.

I think I need about 30mm but I was going to get 40 and cut to size. Its not a Quk header I'm using so I didn't get the standoffs but probably could swap to them.

I'm also unsure about drilling into the frame, especially at the bottom, I wonder how strong it would be in a knock and if that would snap the frame. I like the idea of the bottom mount into the frame block so just need to find some bolts now.

Thats what I was using Dave, but it came loose after 6 months so I thought I'd try something different.

Did you seal it, I've never had mine come off, apart from when i tried to catch a startled rabbit who had just dissapeared down his hole. The rabbit is fine by the way, much better condition that the 600

All you do is clean the side of both tanks, apply double sided tape, stick header to main tank, and then put a tie wrap round both tanks. Works a treat. costs almost nothing.
Robgt was a beleiver that the tie wrap was unnecessary, until his header tank fell off

Nice to know I'm in the same league as Rob for something at least - Yep I sealed it but it still fell off, doesn't the tie wrap look a bit ugly ?
