I am having exactly the same problem with my kit, as is a friend that got his at the same time as me. The kits were the ltd versions (KX0160NPLA). Just spoke to Robbe, and have to measure main shaft tonight and check what length it should be in the manual.

Still no luck, had another stab tonight got it a little better but not much. Everything is lovely and 90, 0 pitch at centre stick around -13 on the bottom but still binding against the head block at 3/4 stick. Getting 8 degrees maximum before it bottoms out.

If i were to lower the swash it would mean moving the servo horns off 90 due to the a frame design of the elevator, but even then the swash would be too low and would hit against the collar/bearing block when full negative and giving aileron/elevator inputs. If the heli was being setup for a beginner it may get away with it but it is being set up for full 3d so full pitch range is crucial.

I have taken some pictures to show you what I mean at the different pitches, they say a picture speaks a million words! Feel free to comment and give any suggestions or if I have done anything wrong!!

I had the swash mix set up at -50 to give me the -13 on bottom but had major binding at positive. As a test I lowered the swash mix until I could get the stick all the way up to 100% without it binding. In doing so I was achieving +/- 8 degrees with 0 at centre stick which to me shows the swash is moving as it should be??? Nice and even through both positive and negative pitch ranges.

if your not getting full stick movement, it means too much mechanical mix, linkages need shortened and possibly servo ball links moved closer to servo.

I'll compare the photos to my setup tonight and see if I can see what's wrong. Like said I have the 191mm shaft and I can get +- 12 degrees. Something else must be a miss but I don't know what.

Are you absolutely certain that the link in the elevator a arm is down as far as it will go?

I can not get the new style gear hub to fit the normal shaft as it seems bottom out against the lip in the shaft before the bolt holes line up? I will try to get a picture of what I mean but it seems that the new collar has a slightly thicker lip at the top causing the whole assembly to sit slightly further down than the old assembly. Now we are not talking a huge ammount, probably around 0.30mm but it is enough to c*ck the bolt and not being able to get it all the way through the shaft and gear.

I tried the head with a normal shaft and old style gear hub and it was all ok, it was only a quick test though and the head was not truly at 90 due to it being set with the fbl shaft and the head sitting slightly higher with the normal shaft. But it demonstrated that the full pitch range could be achieved.

Even when using the fbl shaft as stated in manual, I have had to adjust the links around 2 turns outside what the manual states to get this thing all at 90. With the standard link sizes i was getting +3 at centre stick so I had to adjust the long pitch links one hell of alot to get 0 at centre.

Yeah the elevator links is deffo sat down all the way I checked it against my LE too as a double check

I can't see that moving the servo balls in would fix the problem because it wouldn't change the fact that he can only get 8 degrees positive pitch when the washout base binds against the head block.

Just looking at your pictures and it looks like the washout arms are on the wrong way round when compared to the picture on the Fast Lad site. Have a look here:

                          Hi,
As it's gone quiet on this thread, does that mean it's sorted?
If not we could always meet somewhere and compare setups as I'm not a million miles away from you

I have managed to get +/-11 but had to offset the servo horns slightly, now have a major vib at idle so there seems like there is a problem with the 55 or the clutch stack

I have set everything as per manual and all servos are at 90 degrees along with everything else through the head.
I have this EXACT same problem!!

                              Did you get it resolved???
