Replacing front gearbox gears

Hello,

I have replaced the front gears I'n my 600 but their seems to be a little resistance at one point when turning by hand. Should the long gear be flush with the back bearing? I found it quite difficult getting it through the bearings but I suppose it has to be. It appears to mesh with the umbrella gears ok.

Yes it has to go as far in as possible. It can be a little hard to do. Piece of wood either end and GENTLE pursuasion does the job.
