  • The best flybarless system

Ok I am interested in going flybarless for my 700le but what's the best one??

Fastlad have the align with all the head for £186.00, i know you sould not always go with price but which one is the best value for money. I am quite agressive but not that good.

    Cheers in advance

the Align 3G is getting old, now that the 3GX is on the market. If you can get it cheaply, it may still be a smart move. The latest software update seems to have been quite an improvement.

Keep in mind, the choice of blades is probably as important for cyclic as the FBL controller, maybe even more.

All flybarless systems artificially reproduce the effects of a flybar, so surely the best flybarless system is errrrrrrrrrr................

          a flybar?

          FIGHT!!!!!!!

Thats a good point i was speaking to a guy at our club and he was saying that the blades are not that important with the latest FBL units but what about the align??

Never yet seen a big complaint about the Align FBL head for the 700, so thats a pretty safe bet. The other thing you could do is rathter than buy a complete head in the box, price up the bits you actually need and see if it comes in any cheaper... It probably does.

Having seen you fly a fair bit Lee, Beastx or even the 3GX would do you just fine, but if you want that bit extra and be pretty much future proof, then look at the V-Bar.

Oh, and dont forget, you got Chris who has forgotten more about V-bar that the likes of will probably ever know!!

                        Lee

If you want to try any of my helis you are welcome.

My 550 has the 3GX fitted, the 700N has V5.1 V Bar and the 700E has V5.0 express V bar.Logos are being stripped and sold so they are out of the equation.

IMHO the V bar is still the best system but i think its getting very close now between systems and if Mikado dont keep the updates coming they are gonna lose the top dog status 100%.

As you want to try it on a 700 i suppose one of my 700s with the V bar would be the best ones to try but you can have a go on the 550 to get a feel for the 3GX.

I cant believe i am saying this but i can actually say hand on heart with no bias that i think my 550 is flying better on 3GX than it did on V Bar V5.1.The Tail on the 3GX is simply stunning and the cyclic is very sharp and extremely quick.

3GX is getting some very good reports from the US forums for a simple reason, its actually bloody good and i think Mikado and Beast would very foolish to ignore this because Align have made it quite clear that this is going to be developed very much with plenty of capacity in the hardware.

I am seriously considering selling my last black V Bar system that was destined to go on my 600E Pro Mark 2 and replacing it with another 3GX.

But to answer your question i think the best system is V bar, followed by 3GX,then beast X. Taking price into account its 3GX,Beast X,V Bar.

It's a tricky question. In my experience, the latest V-Bar is more tolerant when it comes to blades than older ones. So it seems to depend on the software.
However, some blades work clearly better than others. I experimented (again) only yesterday, and the difference is quite notable.

About "real" flybars, what the virtual ones are right now still lacking are the interesting features like
                          - drift
                          - roll rate depends on headspeed
                          - bounce
                          - engine loading
                          - noise

                          >> All flybarless systems artificially reproduce the effects of a flybar
I'm not in a fighting mood, but I cannot agree with the statement.
Unless you want the bells&whistles (paddle model etc), a flybarless controller implements "flip / roll rate proportional to stick movement". And that's it. A mechanical flybar cannot do this, it's only an approximation for example due to lack of long-term memory.

                              Hi lee,
I have just flown a friends 700le nitro fitted with an Align head and the old 3G running Version 3 softwear, I must admit it was very nice sort of slightly soft and not as agressive as my Total G equiped 700 le nitro ,Rexy.

There were certainly no vices I could find and I was very impressed indeed.

                              The best imo
V bar, total G, scookum 720 thats in no particular order.

Any total G questions ask away.
                              X Rachel
