New Trex 700 FBL Head - Built in Swash Driver

Has anyone bought and installed the new Trex 700 FBL Head with the swash driver integral to the main head?

I have just bought one and in the process of installing it. I am quickly thinking that the standard 209.5mm main shaft is too long, and to get the head geometery correct will mean getting the shorter 205mm shaft which comes with the 700E.

The head links could be altered, but in some cases it will leave too little thread into the ball links.

Anyone else found this and gone with the shorter main shaft?

Yep, you will find that the FB shaft is too long mate. Get the shorter FBL shaft. The shorter main shaft is supposed to improve flight performance too but I just think it looks better

Hey.

The 3G conversion kit came with two lengths of pitch rods to suit either the FB main or FBL main shafts, they are available seperately from memory but I do not know the part number. This will fix the length problem.

As said above the shorter FBL main shaft will have a good effect on the flying characteristics of your model if you're a hard core 3D'er, the longer shaft will suit more sport flying.

Just reverted back to the original head in the off chance i get to fly at the weekend!!

Ill get the shorter head and some link rods and get it all sorted next week.

Long shaft/short shaft.... My flying is so damn erratic, it wont make the slightest bit of difference to me!!

I think its just you Pedro being used to a shorter shaft
