A little advice need on installing the fan on the engine

hi all , well im going through the build and have noticed that on trying the fan on the engine its a very tight fit , literally to the point as where it only slips on 2 ml is theis the norm and on the 55 limited edition os engine do you leave the washer on that comes with the engine. ps i know its cheeky does anyone have a crank locking tool i could use

You need the washer, push on as far as you can and then use the hub nut to pull home, make sure there are no slight burrs on the end of the crank. I use a large insulated screwdriver up the crank and lock the conrod against it. Don't forget to put a smidge of loctite on the nut and 3mm bolts

Daves advice is bang on but be very carfull not to bur the crank up ,.... I remove the carb and use a plastic toothbrush handle in to the port (slot) in the crank and hold the fan with a rag . this way you can do up the nut quite tight.
If by any chance you take a chunk out of the toothbrush handle just fish out the pieces.

I did it this way for ages until I got a crank lock tool .

i have just taken the back off and noticed the new engine is marking the back of the plate that you take off and a rubbing noise it has a silver circle where it has scored the back plate this is a brand new engine any ideas its new out the box
