  • Hi im new

Hi all , after lots of research i went out and purchased an align 600 le with the OS 55 limited edition heli engine all in blach with muffler and the spectrum DX7 and the phoenix v3 flight simulator , glad i bought this as had a little go last night and woooow lol saved lots of money already lololololol. Has anyone one had any experience with the OS55 limited edition engine all in black and pipe i think its the 3d one too , i was told the engine has been upgraded a little and apparently the bearings are supposed to be better wearing in it ? Look forward to meeting some of you and am looking forward to the build any tips or advice on the build before i start to put it together would be appreciated .

Hiya, good choice of kit; welcome to the forum and the best hobby going.
Try the tuition on Phoenix, you will get a better idea of how difficult it is when you start; try to practice for 20/30 mins at a time before you play lol, not easy I know but it will pay off long term.
    Good luck & enjoy

Hi and welcome, the way I practice in phoenix is by setting the timer, set it for 5mins, then I do 2 x 5mins of hovering in all orientations and circuits, 8's and stall turns, the do 1 x 5mins messing about to break it up.

A tip I was told also on phoenix is never give up on trying to rescue your heli until it its the ground, as even though the heli will probably be jumping all over, its still teaching you what to do to try saving your heli

      Most of all, enjoy
      Kev

Hi rotty81, phoenix certainly is you friend, I know I've crashed about £100,000 worth of helis on it but that was mainly trying inverted auto rotation landings. Must agree with the other comments here, avoid crashing on Phoenix as it's not a good idea getting into the habit of watching your pride and joy breaking up on impact.

My training routine normally consists of some hover practice in all orientations then slow pirouettes whist trying to maintain a hover (V hard but good for orientation practice) and finally circles in all orientations with a little figure 8 practice for fun. Don't forget to turn the weather on once you start to get the hang of things as it is more realistic, I think clear day is to light but brisk is a bit ott for 450 practice so created my own profile somewhere between the two (4mph base with 2.4mph gusts).

Anyway, whatever you do make sure you're enjoying yourself sometimes it's the most frustrating hobby but then there are huge rewards, or so I'm told (see avatar).

Hi there and welcome. Outstanding choice of kit. I would recommend you join a club to help with all the teething problems. It can be tough on your own.

Welcome to the forum and a great hobby! You can't go wrong with the trex 600 and it certainly won't be short of power with that engine.
Phoenix is also a excellent bit of kit, and as you've already found out it'll save you money but also help teach you the basics you need to get into the air.
Have you flown any sort of rc aircraft before?

thank you all for the welcome and the comments , yes dan im a total noob lol , but i will be taking it very seriously on the sim and out on the field and snotvis i will definately be joining a club . I was a little worried about the engine as there is not much talk about them and apparently there was only going to be 1 batch of them in the uk not sure if this is a bad thing .

Loads of people run the 55 mate, nothing to worry about there, plus I'm sure the front and rear bearings in it are the same size as the os50
