  • 600 Nitro battery switch

A vague question but I have soldered up the switch on my 2 in 1 due to the common reliability problem. Currently I have to remove the canopy and pull the plug to switch the power on and off to the heli - which is not very satisfactory.

I have been given a switch as below:

    Fast Lad Performance

Can anyone suggest how this is connected, what the leads are, where they go? Will it actually do what I want?

    Thanks

Inbetween the Rx and the 2in1 power lead.

Personally, I wouldnt trust that setup as far as I could throw it, buy a Flightech reg for £25. Comes with a Failsafe switch too

What's the unreliable bit Paul? The 2 in 1 or the lead?

There are just too many points of failure for my liking, personal opinion though.

I like the ElyQ Reg and Gryphon autobooster combo myself, not cheap though.

Ive gone for ElyQ and Switchglow pro.. again its pricey and still got the 2 in 1 on the 600.. Imo.. nothing worng with 2in1.. the hundreds of thousand of units out there working great and a handfull off failures tarnishing every unit.. this could be down to many factors.. including bad storage conditions/fuel ingrease on contact points.. I would still use it but wiggle the switch for flickering lights to see any potential problems.. and before you ask, I didnt keep one for the 90 due to the amp draw on a FBL 90.. nothing else!

Put the switch between the battery and the regulator else you wont be able to turn the reg off without unplugging the battery (the lille lights will go red then out) There ok like ths

I soldered mine and just take the canopy off to plug the battery in ... Less points to fail IMO ... I only did the mod as the lights kept flickering with the switch so thought it was time to sort it before it died lol ...

Yes, I agree Mike but I've been pulling the canopy on and off for months now and its not doing it any good.
Plus its a lot of messing about. When my heli is sat in the queue at the field and its my turn I have to go out with canopy as well as transmitter - plug the battery in, fit the canopy (which is awkward), before I can fire up the engine. Everyone else just flicks the switch and starts up.

With hindsight I wish I had not soldered up the 2 in 1 but had soldered a couple of cables to the terminals within it and run them to a remote switch.

                  Thanks all for the input.

Ditto on mine, though why does the elyq have two inputs for the battery ?

get a solder sucker and clean off the solder from the joint, my mate Matt just took his apart and sprayed electronic cleaner in his, this didnt work for me though i just take the canopy on and off but it seems you field is busier than ours maybe try maplin for a new switch for the unit

I posted a link to a cheap HK on-board glow the other day..use that with a LiFe pack if your servos can take it and everything is simpler. Extend the battery cable and use a t-plug outside the canopy instead of a switch.
