OK - The kit has arrived. What is the sensible next bit to get? What is more useful? As I can only afford so much at a time, I can probably manage the Gyro and tail servo and engine together, or all the other servos. The GY 501 with 9254 seems a sensible choice? Or is a 502 significantly better to justify the premium? I guess I need some recommendations on the other 4 servos...

I think if it were me I would go engine and servos next rather than engine and gyro as if you have the engine and the servos at least you can build it and start setting it up. while your waiting for the other parts.

or maybe all the radio gear, then all you will have to do is stick the engine in sort the engine servo and your flying that weekend woohoo!!
          All the best

611 is the Futaba gyro of choice. If you're looking at the 5 series, get the 502.
If you can find a 601, get that instead of the 5 series... but the 611 is best.

Engine and exhaust, plus gyro and tail servo is a good lump to throw in. That said, the setup of those items is usually much faster than the setup of the linkages and the head stuff, so perhaps getting the cyclic servos installed now will give you more time to fiddle (while you wait to buy the engine, exhaust and gyro).

            There's logic in there somewhere
            Cheers,

I looked at the prices.....601/611 looks like too much money for me...my wife will go mad... to be honest, as I am only a beginner, and this is my first, I don't want to go too mental on stuff.

On a positive note, got a small cash job, so the engine will be on it's way shortly.
