  • 600 one way bearing

    Hi all
Does anyone else have issues with there one way bearing on the main drive gear for a trex 600, ever since I got the machine it keeps locking up. I've changed it and the sleeve multiple times and had no joy and this morning I tried out aligns new bearing and housing pack which is supposed to stop this from happening but 3 flights later it locks up on me again.
    Any ideas?
    Regards jamie

Surely this means the issue isn't with the one way?

After giving it a bit of thought Jamie I wonder if it's because the main shaft is slightly under sized. Have you ever replaced the main shaft in the 600?

Have you got the washer between the gears?

Yea got the washer and new main shaft and gears fitted, so this isn't a common problem then that's mainly what I was trying to find out as align have released the new one way bearing pack so thought it was a common issue with an easy fix I might try the other main shaft n gears and see what happens.

Don't overdo the bottom Jesus bolt it crushes the one way and when it's out of shape it jams. Grease it up lightly tighten and replace the nylock every time and you shouldn't have any trouble. I haven't in nearly 2 years. Others in the club have it on and off.

              I agree :-

More than likely to be the problem - the bolt doesn't need to be that tight - should have a nylock thread on it so just do it up firmly (not tight)

                Jamie.

This has been a problem with a lot of 600's for a long time mate.

I was very surprised when I had the same trouble with my latest 550e after Mattie Lodge asked me to check it....SOLID.!!

Mattie also had the same problem, I guess the only answer is take apart and apply silicone grease to the bearing.

I did this and it's been ok since fingers crossed.

Don't forget to pre flight check this Jamie, After all if you execute an auto your gonna have trouble. I did and broke the skid strutts.
