Had all of last week off, I did not fly once because of the weather, I just canceled my holiday for next week as the there is no change for the weather, even the long term forecast for the masters is 50% chance of rain.

And I came just over 100 miles this afternoon to your flying site 3dbasher, just to see you fly!!!!!

The weather was ok while I was there!

I brought <<-- this heli, and had my first ever tail failure! Luckily managed to put it down ok with no obvious damage. Need to check it all over properly though.

Also had a fly of your club mate's Bosanova, before he, erm, well, damaged it slightly himself.

Was a good afternoon for me. I'm gonna buy TWO lottery tickets this week after succesfully saving my favourite heli from a death spiral!

                        I did.

I last flew that heli about a month ago, maybe more, and had no problems with it at all.

I flew it at your field this afteroon, did a few circuits, stall turns, loops etc and brought it in to a nice nose-in hover just in front of me at about 5 feet off the ground. Next, I heard a rattling sound and it started to pirouette, and the carbon tail push rod simply fell off and landed on the ground!!!!!!

There was nothing wrong with the ball links or anything, but for some unknown reason, the heli has developed a serious vibration in the tail servo push rod. It was never there before, that's the weird thing about the Gremlins at your field!

Anyway, got it down in one peice, so I'm a happy man...... and, I didn't get wet, although 10 minutes after I left to go home, it started raining, and didn't stop for the next 90 miles!

The heli needs some TLC in the shed before it come out to play again. Might even put the new YS50 in it.
