Went to the field today with three helis, and all came home safely (OK one didnt actually get flown as it began to rain )

Started with my Trex 700FB and really enjoyed myself, the 700 is a great heli for anyone like me who is of limited ability.

Next I flew the 700FBL (3G), almost a disaster to start with, Having remounted the sensor i had not realised I had pushed one of the pins in when pushing in the plug, all seamed OK, I lifted off, did a few checks and landed (just checking at this stage) checked all bolts were nice and tight and went to fly again. spooled up and the swash suddenly blipped I put into throttle hold and checked the movements, had aileron and elevator but no pitch.
Took it back to the bench and we wiggled the wires and sure enough the unit powered off and on, but the pitch did not work. Found the fault (the pin) sorted it and flew again.
Did my first tail slide into a backwards loop, and whilst I stopped at the top, it was another first and am really chuffed.

Having flown the FB and FBL back to back, I have come to a decision

Anyone want to buy a FB head

I really liked the FBL set up and will be changing the other 700 over soon.

glad you had a good one matey I got a taste of what youve been seeing in fbl, im sure youve seen in the other threads how much I enjoyed the 600FBL cant wait to get it all fully sorted and then really get to grips with it.

Glad you like it second time around Tony, are you using Vbar? what differences do you think you find between this and the original setup you tried

I really want to have a fbl model,i refused a go on marks fusion fbl 50 the other day because i was scared i'd like it to much and used the excuse that he had big flower type stick ends and im pinch

Im really skint atm but can see me trying it later on this year when funds allow

World of difference, with the origional setup the spec seamed to change every flight, for ever messing with the settings, if felt disconected and just not safe so therefore it was just not confidence inspiring.

I think the best way I can describ it today is that is was very much like my flybarred helis but the heli flew straighter, im using Vbar I know the setups not perfect I need to reduce the horn oo-er missus!

once ive done that then I can get the gains on the VBar into the band they recommend, having said that it flew very well anyway.
