600 3g maiden tomorrow

Just finished building a 600 3G LE nitro and am hoping to test fly it tomorrow. A bit nervous about going up on the first flight without a flybar, what do I do - just punch it into the air and hope the default settings are ok or lift it off the ground very slowly and prey

Contrary to some ideas, you really shouldn't need to "punch" it up.

Double check all movements of the swash (re-check with the manual) then just make sure that you are in "hold" first, and double check the controls are all making the right movements. Let things settle, then take off the hold, the only thing to remember is not to fiddle about with the sticks as she is spinning up.

Just take it gently and she ought to take off without any issues.

I remember trying the FBL (3G) for the first time, and was a bit worried about it, but to be honest, there is nothing to worry about.

Hi Paul, I was in exactly the same position today (see my post), and it took off with no problems.

Just let her spool up to take off speed without touching the cyclics, and as soon as she lifts off, all is like the FB.

Best thing to do is in norm mode set neg pitch from 45 degrees so 45, 50 75, 100 then when you spool up you wont get any negative load whilst on the ground or spooling down that may affect the swash action so then your be fine spooling up to mid stick ready for the lift.
