  • Flybarless head parts please help, Total G needed

Ok it looks like I am bit!
Rexy my 700 is going flybarless but I could do with some input ,

I will be using a Total G ,(anyone selling one)

I am thinking of using the 3G head , but I am sure I have read on some dodgy forum some where you need a shorter mainshaft and links ???

Can anyone help a poor deluded girl get some preccision out of a T rex 700 I am fed up of his phasing issues .

I have just fitted a 3G head to my old 700 and it fits fine, the actual head is around 15-20mm shorter anyway. (no see saw drillings) I believe the main shaft from a 700E is shorter still if you really want to close it down, but mine all fitted fine. Picking up a pipe tonight and hope to test this week/weekend.

Just waiting delivery of my Align head & don't think you need to change main shaft, I'm not sure if I'm using 3G or Beastx.
Today's outlook is fine for flying.

I thought the shorter mainshaft was an option to make the heli more squat (and testyour dampers for boomstikability).

Some have said the head fitted fine, others have said the links are too short. There appear to be a couple of options, there is the shorter main shaft or longer links.

I'm going for these links as it means I can get better adjustment on the link length

Marks links were too short, so bought the mainshaft.

If you buy the 3G head from HK for example, they are just the inidividual parts for a 3G 700.

The original 3G comes with the shorted mainshaft, hence why it is needed.

It is know big deal at least it wasnt for the 600, you just call fast lads tell them what you are going to do and they sort the parts, as it is a 700 they will know exactly what is required.......

                  Hi,

Here is a list i've made up for the individual parts required to convert over to an Align FBL head setup:

Align FBL Head Block: Fast Lad Performance

Align FBL Blade Grips: Fast Lad Performance

Align FBL Mixing Base Set: Fast Lad Performance

Align 600/700 FBL Link Set: Fast Lad Performance

Align 700 FBL Main Shaft (Short): Fast Lad Performance

There is also the KDE FBL Hub for the 700 with fixed washout arms for zero phasing issues: Fast Lad Performance

Forgot about these, complete Align FBL Head Conversions:
                  Black: http://www.fast-lad.co.uk/store/hn71...k-p-12924.html
                  Silver: http://www.fast-lad.co.uk/store/hn71...r-p-12925.html

Personally i would go with the individual items and go for the KDE center hub block as this rules out any offset in the washout base so in theory no phase issues.

                  Hope this helps!

If you want to keep the cost down have a look at how Jamie (J S Q) converted the stock 700 head for FBL. I'll dig up the thread in a minute. I think the way he modded the stock head is a very good option.

The differance in length between the FB mainshaft and the FBL mainshaft is that it is shorter by about 8mm,

Am I right in thinking you can buy the whole head in one piece for the 3g head.

                            Rachel,

You can buy the 3G head, minus the 3G unit, in black or silver

                            Fast Lad Performance Black head

                            Fast Lad Performance Silver head

                            I've also bought these

Fast Lad Performance Which are longer links.

This should be all I need as the longer links make up for the fact I'm using the original 700N main shaft. If I used the 700E main shaft I could use the original 700 links

I bought the 3G head couple of weeks ago from fast lads and i found it come with the shorter links so had to get the shorter main, fast lads seem to have dropped all there prices down on the 700E/N parts so 2 shafts for £12.11

Plus looks better with the shorter shaft
