Align - 2 in 1 Voltage Regulator / Glow / LiPo

Not sure where else you can get one but they do look interesting.

Is there a catch with some things that can't take 6V. Sorry to be vague but I seem to remember some tail servos or was it gyro's not liking the higher voltage?????

Can anyone shed more light on the subject??

Will have a search around for other sources too so I haven't totally hijacked the thread.

Hey no worrys about the hijack mate its all about the same thing mate,
Some servos such as Futaba servo models 9241.9251.9253.9254.9255.9256, and other digital servos not capable of handling 6V. so you would need to get a Step-Down Voltage Regulator

A Step-Down Voltage Regulator is only £3 very cheap

I assume the dual step down allows you to use a 2 cell lipo (7.4 v) to power everything via a choice of both 6v and 5 v outputs. So you can run the rx, gyro and tail servo on 5V and the ccpm (or collective and cyclic) on 6v.

I dont think so, the step down goes between the gyro and servo, yeah u can buy more than one and put them all on the servos but i think that will be a waste, as they say a fully charged 4.8v will be over 6V, so have it reg at 5.8v should be fine

Both my 2 in 1 (regulator & remote glow) have 2 in-line step downs, 1 in between the Revlock and 9254 throttle servo and one in between the 611/401 gyro amp and 9256 servo.

How much flight time do you get off that 1900 align 2S LiPo on this regulator?
I believe you run some decent servos etc in your heli?

I also run a TP3400 7.4, I ain't never gone past the first the second (8V) LED so that is at least 4 flights, when I charge them back up I am lucky to put even 1000mAh back in. But when I go out I do fly 2 helis as well as the planes, so doing a hard days flying with just 1 heli should be OK. I would imagine the Align 1900 are good for at least 6-7 flights but I guessing as I have never used the Align packs.

Raptor has 3 x 9252, 1 x 9254, GY401 + 9254, RevMax, Spektrum and the remote glow on the regulator

Trex 600N has 3 x 9451, 1 x 9254, GY611 + 9256, RL20, CL, Spektrum and the remote glow on the regulator

I reckon it might be worth saving a little weight by having two 1700 or 1800 packs instead, but interesting info dude
