  • First nitro build

well i got my new 700le this morning and well its very cool indeed. I've got the head built and the main frame all together and its been pretty straight forward. everything has been checked and locktighted where it needs to be just guess i'll have to sit and read the destructions until the engine turns up. Only issue i found was with the govenor bracket and how it mounts, i'm using the one in the kit and either i'm missing the point or the little rubber doofer is the wrong bit. it shows the scews going in from the bracket side through the rubber doofer and into the frame but the screws are to short and the holes in the frame to big. Now at this point i'm guessing there's a few expert builders ****in themselves cos i've just done a "newbee" anyway when you've stopped laughin point me in the right direction please

I know exactly what you mean! I have been building my 700n today and in general the kit goes together really well. The crap little plastic bit for the governor sensor is a little poor in my opinion ~ try putting a little CA on the small self-tapping screws before you insert them ~ it helps to lock them in and avoid striping the plastic.

Good luck with the rest of the build and of course the maiden……….

      the issue seems to be

the mount as found in the box with the govener isn't the same as the one in the destructions. the one supplied is a small plastic oblong bit with only two screw holes and the one in the destructions is square with 4 holes.

        panic over

as a wise man once said " if you open your eye's you'll be amazed by what you can see" the missing part has been found and its just like the one in the destructions hey ho, now i feel a plonker.

Don't yer just love forums, the perfect place to make a complete prat of yourself.
