    It makes the situation even worse then it being 10mm shorter.

      Not sure the picture is 100% clear - the needle is 1 tenth before the 7 making the measurement 569 or 56.9mm

        No I think he's right the divisions are 0.1mm. So 10mm is a full rotation of the dial.
