  • Align new main shaft

    Hi All,

I Just checked out the Midland Heli site and there is a new main shaft listed for for the Align Trex 600 fbl, both nitro end electric. I have just fitted one to my heli(Trex600 le) and have noticed it is about 10mm shorter than the standard main shaft. After re adjusting the control linkage all seem well, I just wondered what reasoning may lie behind this change?

On an aside, My Heli seems to eat the top main shaft bearing with the FBL set up, I have even replaced it with a quality sealed bearing. These have not done much better. I am not flying this to the extreme and would not consider my self hard 3d flier. The bearings get all notchy after about 10 flights. The main shaft has all metal bearing holders from top to bottom and the lower 2 bearings are quality sealed items. It is only the top on that suffers. The shaft is new as are all the components in the head. Align Flybarless blades that are balanced.

I'd assume it's for FBL set up?

HAve you go the main shaft collar on upside down? I did this once by mistake, and it destroyed the collar and bearing lol.

My 600s always ate mainshaft and bladegrip bearings, long before FBL came on the scene......

.....They are consumables at the end of the day.
