Hi all any one used 5625, servoes in a 700 I have gained three new ones and cant decide to sell, or put them in a 700 I am going to build cheers

My personal experience with Hitec servos and associated products has been very disappointing. I have always used Futaba or JR servos despite the price and always been very satisfied.
In a turbine plank I used a variety of Hitecs due to the attractive price and the ability to hook them up to a programmer to adjust centres etc which was a big plus in a particular application.
One of the 12 servos was dead on arrival, two more died during setup and the digital programmer also died during the setup process.
What I should have done at that point was bite the bullet - take the lot out and start again.
You can guess whats coming cant you???
12 flights in, one of the aileron servos (5625) failed at full right aileron - luckily I managed to hold in full left aileron so the ailerons were acting as flaps and more by good luck than management used the rudders to get it back to the strip and landed safely - fast but safely! Diagnosis - a dry joint on the motor.
Couple of months later the single elevator servo (5645) failed (complete loss of elevator function - all other controls working fine) and the model was a total loss - 5 grand lost due to saving a couple of hundred quid on servos. Nothing survived the fire and the exact fault was never discovered.
The servos were all Hitec and a mixture of metal geared and Karbonite geared.
I am sure people will jump in and say how fantastic Hitec servos are but this is my personal experience.
The only Hitecs I have had any success with are 65 MG's in my T-Rex 450 (the more they are used the better they seem to get!) - anything bigger than that I would rather not fly than fly with Hitec gear except possibly on retracts or none flight critical duties.
Would I use them on flight surfaces on a 700 size heli - I would rather stay in and watch Coronation St
