So many flybar's are replaced because they are bent after a crash and never got to the point of fatigue failure.

You've heard about my flying crashing, then?

hey dude, just read the reply on the other thread and throught the whole of this thread, getting abit stupid now really isnt, u might of been really unlucky and got one out of a million flybars that is bad, or just it weaken over a period of time and its given up, truth be told shit happens dude, all the flybars ive snapped ive got the model down in one piece, very weird feeling when flying half a flybar lol i gather u got yours down in one piece aswell

                    the way i see it,

it cant be a build error, come one, its a 3mm bar, u cant exactly put it together wrong can u lol

it cant be pilot error either, oh wait, hang on, if it is does this mean i can out fly my n9 and my old n5, bend them in a S shape on my ely q and my very old back in the day trex600

FOOK ME!!!! i must be good

but reality is they do take some stress, even during pitch pumps on the spot, constant bending up and down, the rpm drops, then picks back up again, now we got left to right movement, its a wonder they actually last as long as they do lol fit a new one, go fly and close the thread please,

                    F**KIng pointless

The really odd thing is that sometimes you find people who don't seem to expect that, sooner or later if you give someone sh*t its going to be given back.

Newton's 3rd law I suppose... though a bit delayed sometimes (depending on a persons tollerance for BS)

                            Entertaining thread anyway.
Political Correctness is a doctrine fostered by a delusional, illogical, liberal minority, and rabidly promoted by an unscrupulous mainstream media, which holds forth the proposition that it is entirely possible to pick up a turd by the clean end.

Alec's original thread had the inflamitory title "One more Align F@@K up align Flybar snapped in flight"

                              My original response was:
"Sorry, it's not Aligns f**k up, I put the blame squarely on the builder/pilot"

                              Let me explain:

Firstly I'm sick and tired of people degrading a good, but relatively cheap helicopter, that hundreds, nay probably thousands, of us fly on a regular basis. They are NOT totally faultless, but with one exception the Manufactures seem to have fixed all currently know issues. The one exception being the soft screw and bolt stock, however, I've never had a bolt shear in flight, not even a Jesus bolt (but I did have many when flying Raptors). Geez even James May flys an Align, and his has rockets !

Too readily we have people bitching and moaning about the "Poor" state of Align machines, well if they are that bad, BUY something else.

Now, when I saw Alec's original post title, the red mist fell over my eyes, and I felt obliged to retort is a strenuous fashion.

For those of you unable to understand the meaning of my original post, here's the explaination.

"Sorry" - a word that means I've been driven to this by the original post title.

"it's not Aligns f**k up" - pretty self explanatory to most people, meaning that someone else is to blame because I cannot see how Align can be held accountable, obviously taken for the original thread title.

"I put the blame squarely on the builder/pilot" - Re-assigning the blame to that "other" person. Builder, because there is a chance it could have been a construction mistake, however I do accept that it's the least likely cause, but, another however, a bit more likely, could be lack of maintenance. Pilot, because most flybar failures are as a direct result of the pilots action or flight mode, people who fly 3D, do lots of tick tocks, aerobatic autos are more prone to having flybars fail. The failure mode is fatigue, or as Ade correct said earlier "work hardening". Most people who've been around Heli's for a while, take this type of failure in their stride.

Now, its at this point that I could degenerate into flaming and name calling, but Alec needs the practice of that more that I do.........

I'm going for some tea now
                              Janek

Why does it always persist down at weekends ?
