700 tail failure

Yesterday i lost the tail on the 700 but hit TH and got her down safely

The stand off on the tail box give way

Got a new one today and notice its solid with no hole in unlike the one that failed in the LE kit

Ive had these bend in a crash Nick but never a clean break like that.

Mad isnt it!!....got the tail case parts bag and the new stand off is solid,wonder if theres been a few snap.Cant understand why they have the oval hole in TBH,its hardly a gain on weight loss

Thanks,ive had a few 'ins' on tail loss,learnt the quicker you hit TH the better

No, tail is constantly driven, assuming that the drive to it isn't damaged. Hitting TH eliminates engine torque.

i just bought a 700 le a few days ago and getting worried . wonder what the chances of it happening to mine?

Well,it happened to me,so theres a slim chance.

I picked one up from Quick UK and its not the same as in the pic,its solid with just two holes for fixings

Has the bird have suffered from a previous crash to the tail or has this failed from out of box ?

Had a hard landing the other day when a control lever ball fell out,broke a skid,the vertical tail fin went in soft ground where it could of possibly done the damage

Its Align mate,im not garantee'ing itbut it looks like its a stronger part,perhaps its an original 700n part

Thanks for the warning, it does look a bit pointless, I think I'll change mine over.
