  • Align 600 and 700 washout base question

    I know this is a strange question. I want to know if the 600 washout base has the same spacing of the slots where the washout guide fits in as the 700? (it's wishful thinking really because if the main shaft size is different chances are the spacing of the holes or slots will not be the same).

    Basically I got a 700 rotorhead for a project I am doing but the drivetrain is setup for a 10mm main shaft.

    The 700 head is for a 12mm shaft. My thinking was that this issue is easily overcome by getting a sleeve to adapt it to the 10mm shaft but I totally spaced and forgot about the washout base.

    I suppose for sake or argument it would be possible to have a sleeve made for the washout base as well and drill it for a grub screw or something to secure it.

    My choices are;

    1. Find a washout assembly that will work on the 10 mm shaft.
    2. get a sleeve for the 700 washout
    3. Sell the 700 head and use something else.

    I am leaning towards solution number 3 at the moment. I only paid £45.00 for the 700 head and it looks nearly new.

    sleeving a 700 washout still means the washout arm angles are wrong (if that matters) unless you then consider sleeving the whole shaft from top bearing up and spend out on a 700 swash too?

    Lots of .90 size 10mmm heads to fit 10mm mainshafts.. Preddie/spectra/blitz of the helis I've owned..

    ..why not just go fbl... pretty sure rjx do a .90 size head for 10mm shaft..

      Perhaps the path of least resistance is to find a Robbe Milli 3 washout assembly, which should then mate up just fine with a Futura SE rotorhead.

      It's a custom made Robbe frame with a Trex 600 swash.

      If a 600 head would handle the bigger blades (690mm) then that's a possibility. It probably would but might need stiffer dampers and it would probably be better to have a bigger feathering shaft ('just a guess).

        When you consider the spindle saft sizes of 10mm shaft .90 heads...I's not the shaft that would bother me..or the dampers..you're not going to hard 3D it anyway. It might just be the grips themselves cycling?

        The other issue is that most 690 blades have a 5mm bolt.. but I do have a set of 710 JP carbons with a 4mm bolt I bought by mistake once ..new in packet here..
