  • 600 3mm Tail pushrod guides

Hi, can anyone point me in the direction to get some black 3mm pushrod guides for a 600? To stop some flexing, I've carbon sleeved the tail linkage rod on the side of the heli but want to do the long tail one aswell but I cant seem to find a guide for it and dont want to do away with the guides either? Or shall I just drill a 3mm hole through the existing guides?

You could open them up a bit but I would probably look at something like the Sceadu ones. Same size boom but will accept a 3mm carbon rod from memory. Do you think that the existing rod is causing a problem? I haven't had any issues whatsoever as the rear linkage is straight down the boom so can't flex too much anyway, make sure that the guides you put on allow enough movement for lateral flexing at the tail end and the linkage as it's movement isn't in line.

Edit : Make sure you leave enough clearance on the guides as the carbon will wear if it's too tight.

Thanks Dave, No, I dont think its a problem.. On my preflight checks, the rods just flex's, rattles and you can see it buzzing back and forth when the engines running. Its just something that annoys me more than anything else.. dont think it will make to much of an improvement, if it does, its probably marginal.

It shouldn't be buzzing when the engine is at full chat. If it is move one or all of the current supports to change the harmonics buddy. Should stop the vibrations.

How about using the new Quick UK Trex 700 tail rod guide? You will need to upgrade the carbon rod to 5.5mm but it looks pretty robust. I guess on a 600 you could get away with one guide on the boom.

Anyway, just an option for you........

Cheers mate, I did look at the Quick UK ones but like u mentioned.. the holes to big! And I didnt want to use the QUK rod kit as its easier and I feel more secure with what I'm doing.. saves possibly any poor expo on the rod ends and coming apart inflight or having to drill new holes with bolts!

It's not too big Eddie, it's actually what you want with carbon otherwise it will wear like buggery, ask me how I know. You don't need so much support with the carbon because of the stiffness, you only need to guide it, not capture it.
