Their also doing the 700 kit + electronics + fbl head for £493 which seems like a good deal. No 3G unit means you can choose your own fbl controller

Very interested to know how it turns out!
Went for the £321 kit as I want to fit a BEASTX to it. Already got servos ready to go in just need a pipe for a 91HZ and the BEASTX controller.

Long winded but here is the charges explained from HMC

3.1 How are import charges calculated?
Charges are calculated by UK Border Agency (UKBA) staff at the postal depots where the packages are received. However, in some cases special arrangements are in place for goods purchased on the Internet (see paragraph 3.4 below).

Value Added Tax (VAT) - Import VAT is charged at the same rate that applies to similar goods sold in the UK and applies to commercial goods over £18 in value, and on gifts that are over £40 in value. The value of the goods for import VAT is based on the:

        basic value of goods, plus
        postage, packing and insurance, plus
any import (Customs or Excise) duties charged.
Customs duty - Customs duty becomes payable if the goods are over £135 in value but is waived if the amount calculated is less than £9. Customs duty is usually charged as a percentage of the value of the goods.

The amount of customs duty charged will depend on the type of goods imported and their value stated on the customs declaration CN22/CN23 (converted using the rates of exchange for the month of importation as shown on our website).

The percentage varies depending on the type of goods and their country of origin. Duty is charged on the price paid for the goods including any local sales taxes plus postage, packing and insurance costs. However, the cost of postage is excluded from the calculation for customs duty on gifts except where the sender has used the Express Mail Service (EMS) as opposed to a standard mail service.

Where the value of gifts is below £630 per consignment a flat rate of duty of 2.5 per cent Member States will be applied, but only if it is to your advantage.

Excise duty - this is charged on alcohol and tobacco products and is additional to customs duty. The excise duty on alcohol products such as wines and spirits depends on the alcohol content and volume. In the case of wine and cider whether they are sparkling or still. Duty on cigarettes is based on a percentage of the recommended retail selling price plus a flat rate amount per 1,000 cigarettes. On other tobacco products, for example, cigars or hand rolling tobacco, excise duty is charged at a flat rate per kilogram.

        Ade.

Picked up the 700 today from Parcelfarce.
              breakdown of costs
              £321 kit + FBL Head
              £41.58 EMS shipping
              £16.72 VAT Customs charge
              £13.50 parcelfarce handling charge
              total £392.80

The kit does NOT come with blades so you have to add that cost in as well.
After all that I don't think that you are saving all that much although I haven't seen anywhere here that is doing just the kit with FBL head but no 3G unit.

                Thanks Adrian,

So your only really saving yourself £30-£40 once you've added £60-£70 for blades. It would probably be quicker/easier to buy at flybarred 700 kit from UK for £490, sell flybarred head and buy your own fbl head.

Seems like a good deal on the face of it but not as bigger saving as i'd hoped. They should definitely sell a 600 & 700 kit with fbl head in the UK now fbl has become so popular. I suppose they only do them as combo's because they want us to keep buying their 3G systems and not stick a cheaper and most likely better fbl controller on instead

At least you received it ok, saved a few quid and now have a shiny new 700 to play with

Glad it arrived safe and sound.

I got my flybarred LE kit, with blades, from Inwoods for £400. As such I'm not sure I'd have saved anything from this deal.

Still, you don't know til you try eh? Well done for being brave enough to have a punt.

Most of the Aligns, fair few Spektrum bits, bunch of Align & HiTec servos, OBE, VD & Bar.

I got my 700E combo from Parcelforce this morning also.

Total cost was £560 for the heli shipped and £32 clearance and VAT

So £592 this is for the 700E 3G combo but they have removed the 3g unit only as i didnt want that as i have a V Bar spare ready for it.Its Combo deal 4 on Century RC`s website.

So £200 cheaper than UK(offer) price,3g`s die on their ass to sell secondhand so i am well pleased.

Very tempted to go for this once they're restocked:

                          CENTURY-RC.COM

How much do you think customs would add? As much as the £200 saving from any UK price?

Or do you think it would be better to go for the combo that includes the 3G unit and sell it on for £150 or swap for BeastX (beastX is what I'd want to use).

                          Cheers!

Would this not be better, the A3 combo, everything minus 3g unit.

                            CENTURY-RC.COM

Thats the one i went for but the E version.
