  • Trex 700 tracking

I've been flying my 700 and when I come out of a move by pushing forwards or pulling backwards the tracking goes out, I've tried greasing the rubbers until the grease squezes out and today if tried new blades but it still keeps going out, any body else have or has had this problem, I fly hard 3d but the only time it does it is coming out of a slide, it's really doing my head in now, please help!

    Cheers chris

try to pull on one blade. Does the feathering shaft slide to one side? If so, one blade gets slightly longer => tracking problems.

Are the paddles tight on the flybar?

And the all-time classic: Is the feathering shaft really straight?
If not, it will twist in flight and cause tracking problems that defy common sense.

The shaft is straight, if changed the rubbers, all bearings in the blades hlders ect, links on the head, if pulled on the blade and it's fine, is there anything else

Interesting to find the solution to this one - there's a Raptor 30 at our club which doesn't do 3D at all, just circuits and stuff, and it too suddenly goes out of track, often after a heafty elevator input.

Bring it in, land, stop and then go again and it will be fine.

        Been puzzling us for ages.

I'd check the rotor system over top to bottom, especially the linkages, if you haven't changed the linkages to the QuickUK ones it may be a good idea, the original ones do stretch, I'd check all the screws are nipped up right, and replace the dampeners aswell.

also check the balls they may be worn in one area causing the problem

Was it any better with the Align blades Chris? I guess you put a few more flights on it after I went.

Has it been crashed,if so check the washout and mixer arms are not distorted/twisted.

I have seen this happen on a 500 and 700 both times it would go in and out of track.

brought it off a user on this forum, they hadn't looked after it very well, they said they were scared of it but it looked thrashed, I don't hav a clue if they smashed it or not, I'm thinking they did because the arm that sticks out the side of the tail gearbox was twisted

the other thing to look at is the rod lengths on the head
if the pitch links to the blade grips are too far different in length and the seesaw arm to swash links are too far out but giving 0 at mid stick then the movement ratio will be out giving an alteration in the track of the blades
