  • changing fuel clunk in the 700

did you know, it is possible to change the clunk (or the foam liner on a fuel magnet) through the second plug at the side of the tank.
The picture tells it all, pull out the clunk line with a small, L-shaped hex key. Pull it off the clunk, then it fits through the opening.

Nice trick I will defo give that a go when the time comes.

How long do these fuel magnets normally last If kept submerged! I've had one in for about a month and it still looks like new?

to be honest, I don't even know if a fuel magnet is really the best solution, or for example an OS bubbleless clunk.
In my opinion the fuel magnets are too light and draw air from the surface. At least that's how it felt when pumping fuel from the heli.
I know, the manual states they get heavy once they are wet. The problem is, when the weight increases, so does the volume, effectively. To keep the clunk submerged it doesn't only need to be heavy, it needs a high density as well. For that, aluminium is bad, it almost swims
