  • Thrust bearings

    Hi guys,

could do with some advice, i've just recently had a crash with my 600 pro,
inverted and landed it on the head, so got the bits put it together but the main blade holders are really tight and notchy when i tighten them up, replaced the bearings in the blade holders and the thrust bearings ( metal blade holders ) but still tight! must of had em apart a dozen times now checking everything just can't see anything wrong

    any ideas would be welcomed

    thanks paul
    Cheers Paul

If you pull on the blade holders and turn are they still notchy? I have had them a little notchy before but with some outward force they are free so I figured it would be fine as with the head spinning the centrigual force will mean they are not notchy in flight.

it can happen if there is too much tension on the dampers.
Maybe your new bearings are not fully seated into the blade grips, and the feathering shaft becomes effectively too short.

Try to remove all bearings, and clean the bladeholders from old threadlock etc.

You did put in the thrust bearings the right way, didn't you?

Thanks guys, yeah thrust bearings in correct way, not tried pulling on the blades but will give it a go see if they free up abit

the servos don't seem to struggle moving them, but they just don't feel right

There are two more bearings in each blade grip other than the thrust bearings take them all out and see if they are notchy (worth replacing them if they are slightly notchy). That could be your problem, I had a similar thing a few crashes ago for the sake of a few quid it was worth doing the blade grips were smooth as silk till Saturday anyway then I stuffed it good an proper.
