yeah or you could just start off with a better grade steel which wouldn't cost the world but doesn't snap off and cost the user hundreds of pounds to fix....
No Silly Me Align want that extra 10p for profit hehe
Sorry guy's but at the price point that Align offers, there will always be the unlucky few that suffer like the OP. Fact is, the sheer number of units sold mean that you are the "few", like it or lump it, thats the price of cheap parts and mass production, simples. I was a lucky customer
A thought occurs that these could have been counterfeit parts made from poor steel in a Chinese shed. Counterfeit Align packaging, parts sent mail order and who would know? Has anyone got a genuine part from an original kit that can be photographed to check the machining?
Having had to investigate some of the crap that squirts out of the Peoples Republic like so much diarrhea, they have NO idea whatsoever of material properties or QA processes. How about motorcycle brake disc retaining screws that stretch by 3mm over 3000 miles?
I'm not saying that it's not Align's fault, but don't jump to concusions. I'm sure if some enterprising soul were to make some bling tailshafts out of a quality material to a high standard of machining, there would be a nice little earner for them.

It isn't counterfeit parts that's the problem, I had my original tailshaft that came in the kit snap the end off after my 2nd batch kit had done about 30 flights although the replacement has been fine.
I had a Quick UK tail on mine and had problems with the hub rocking on the shaft, the grub screw used was an M3, not M4 as with the original hub and there was a possibility that the rocking contributed towards the failure. I'm now back to the original plastic grips without problems.
