Started the build last night and stumbled at the first step- one of the feathering shaft bolts did not have any hex socket in it and just had a flat head, so I was unable to tighten it- waiting for a replacement now Got on and started the frame assembly though, so managed to at least get something done- this is goign to be a really fun project.

Might be worth looking for a spare one, Alex. As I recall every Align kit I've built thus far includes a bag of general spares. A few bolts, some ball links, rods, etc. If there is such a thing with the 700 kit it just might contain what you need.

Thanks, but I looked in every bag, though I will check again. Fingers hurt from carbon dust from the wet and dry lol

It's starting to come together- both frame sides done and together, clutch all done and the engine is mounted, fuel tank in- well worth putting it in with the frames split- it would be a real pain with it all snugged together- it may almost start looking like a heli if I get some skids on. Should be able to get on with the head tomorrow- happy days- I just wish this bloody Tx would turn up- I'm getting seriously irritated now...............

Nice to see you're liking the build I had the Align esc go pop on the 500 yesterday and blow a servo with it So orderd another esc and servo but wont be here till next week.

Big thanks to Chris for the help in the final tuning- I was very chuffed with my build- did it all by eye a la Finless Bob and the only mechanical bit of tuning needed was two turns on a linkage rod to get the tracking perfect. So stable and smooth, and so much presence.

Need to keep my thumbs still now for a bit until the engine is run in and the mixes right

I am in love Took it back to the field this evening after my house emptied and ran another 3 tanks through and started gradually leaning off the engine. This is an awesome heli and makes every step to get to this point worth it- love the sound, power and presence. It's going to take a few weeks to get used to it, but boy, I'm even more hooked than I was

Don't worry Chris- it still looks like Channel Fog and if the wind blows the wrong way my shades get nitro speckled
